UPDATE: As of February 27,2023: The Genesee Library is still offering free take home covid tests and mask upon request. We are still doing our best to fulfil the need s of our patrons as much as we can.

As of February 16,2022 Masks are to be worn at patron and staff discretion. We ask that patrons and staff respect each other as we start this next journey.

Starting Tuesday, January 11, 2022, all of the Allegany County Libraries will have free masks and COVID home
test kits available to the individuals living in that township.

As of August 23,2021 the Genesee Library requires that you wear a facemask properly while in our building. This is regardless of vaccination status. We are still cleaning and disinfecting highly touched surfaces. There will be no quarantine times on materials. We understand at any point someone in your family may still quarantined if this happens please contact us about taking out extra materials and extending your return dates.

How are we protecting you:

  1. Staff members wear masks anytime that they are interacting with patrons.

2) Staff is now working opposite shift to limit any exposure to each other.

3) Cleaning routines have been set up that the library is cleaning twice daily and extra disinfecting of highly touched areas.

4) Quarantining library materials for 96 hours before being placed back into circulation. This may mean some library material are on your account longer even though you have returned them.

5) Offering alternative pick up options such at Drive Up Service, and Window Service.

What Patrons Can Do

  1. Return all library materials to the book drop or designated area
  2. Wear your mask
  3. Do NOT come to the library if you are feeling unwell
  4. Ask questions if you are unsure we are happy to help.
